Major systemic disruptions have reshaped social, economic, and cultural life worldwide, bringing sudden and profound change. Global thinking and local action have taken on a new meaning. How do we want to and how can we live and work in the future? At the Center for Advanced Studies, we use an interdisciplinary approach to analyze social, economic and political processes and look ahead to their impacts.

Center for Advanced Studies
Our team combines expertise from political science, sociology, economics, socio-economics and philosophy. It consists of both specialists and generalists working closely together to inform and provide food for thought - in critical exchange and with different scientific methods.
How can we make global and local value chains sustainable? How can we counteract climate change? How can our society become multi-resilient and able to master different challenges with confidence?
We keep an eye on world events and highlight their impacts at the local level. We use our expertise and international networks to anticipate developments - such as for the future scenarios for a sustainable South Tyrol 2030+, which show possible paths to sustainable development for the province.
Research and innovation are the driving forces in our search for new responsible and climate-friendly economic models, socio-ecological transformation, cohesion in our society and the ongoing fight against inequalities. Because we all bear global and regional responibility.
